Journey’s End National Art Exhibition has
received 215 entries
from all over the United States and one foreign country

Please join us for another national level
fine art show starting November 11 at the Heritage Museum
and the Holiday Inn Express in Astoria, Oregon.
Journey’s End National Art Exhibition has received 215
entries from all over the United States and one foreign
country. Our jury accepted 81 works of art, representing
painting, sculpture, mixed media, scrimshaw, photography and
art quilts. They will be on display and for sale in the
Heritage Museum from November 10 to 27. Because of space
limitations, a large number of the entries which could not
be accommodated there will be displayed in the Holiday Inn
on the weekend of November 11 to 13.
Two Grand Receptions on November 11,
2005
The reception at the Heritage Museum features a
discussion with sculptor Stan Wanlass of his Clark’s
Tree which is erected in Long Beach, Washington. Show judge
Wanlass, of Sandy, Utah, is a former resident of Astoria. He
is also the creator of the turn-around sculpture in Seaside.
The reception will then move to the Holiday Inn,
where the audience will hear Gerard Baker,
superintendent of Mount Rushmore National Memorial. Baker, a
Native American of Mandan/Hidatsa origin, will speak on the
tribes’ oral history of the Lewis and Clark expedition, and
the future of Lewis and Clark.
